"War Cry" is the first tier ability, but eventually the general can unlock skills like "Intimidate", which also decreases an enemy unit's morale, and "Into the Breach" which gives a single friendly unit a boost to morale and their charging power. Zeal ( The Alexander): While Cunning focuses on intelligence to defeat enemies, Zeal uses brute strength and morale boosting & degrading abilities to grind them into the dirt. I haven't had any generals that specialize heavily in this trait yet, but I do know that Cunning focused generals can eventually focus on ambushes and night battles.

This is reflected at first in the "Inspire" skill which gives a boost to the fighting ability of a single unit, but later on the general can unlock skills that allow them to recruit infantry, cavalry, ships and (I think) siege weapons at a reduced cost while also giving them an experience boost (Up to 2 bronze chevrons).Ĭunning ( The Hannibal): This trait causes your general to focus on using intelligence and ingenuity to defeat his enemies. I'll give a quick breakdown of what I've learned so far.Īuthority ( The Caesar): This trait turns your general into an exceptional and inspiring leader that men flock towards.

Amusingly enough, the three general traits seem to correspond with "The Big Three" of Hellenistic Era military history ie: Gaius Julius Caesar, Hannibal Barca and Alexander the Great.
